Success story Krones
21. Nov 2024
Together with our customers, we develop innovations that have a long-term impact on the future. Thanks to co-engineering with the Krones AG, we were able to develop the most sustainable blowing block for rotating stretch blow moulding machines yet.

Initial situation
Krones AG, with headquarters in Neutraubling in Germany, is a global leader when it comes to the development and production of bottling lines for the drinks industry. These machines are used all over the world. Krones is making their vision a reality, step by step – sustainable and affordable beverages, foods and daily goods for everyone, everywhere.
Due to our values and beliefs, we at Seitz are naturally the optimal partner. Based on our vision to save natural resources through optimal handling of glass, together with Kones, we were able to take a big step in the realm of forward-thinking bottling.
Collaboration
Good cooperation and weekly online meetings between experts from Seitz and Krones were essential. This close collaboration ensured that Seitz perfectly understood and implemented Krones needs. With the air spring valve technology, we developed a valve solution which switches quicker and more precisely, has a higher useful life and reduces energy consumption by 20%.
Success
Thanks to this newest innovation, we could save 6,000 tonnes of CO2 yearly. The entire generation of machines will reduce worldwide CO2 emissions by 430,000 tonnes. These savings and the longer lifespan of products are milestones when it comes to achieving the UN sustainability goals (SGD) of the 2030 agenda. Together with our customer, we were able to contribute to achieving the SDG 9, industry, innovation and infrastructure, as well as SDG 12, and responsible consumption and production.
The speedy design, good communication and cost-optimised development should also be emphasised.
